When Is Polypectomy Recommended?
Polyps are detected during endoscopy or colonoscopy

Polyps are causing symptoms such as bleeding or obstruction
Follow-up surveillance is required after previous polyp removal
Fast for 6–8 hours before an upper GI endoscopy
Complete bowel preparation before a colonoscopy

Discuss blood-thinning medications before the procedure
Arrange transportation home if sedation is used

An endoscope or colonoscope is inserted to examine the digestive tract.
